Visitors to Bridgeport, California are pleased to find Casa Michaela, an authentic Mexican restaurant that specializes in traditionally prepared ethnic dishes. Known for providing delicous Mexican food throughout the Eastern Sierra, it is located just south of Bridgeport on U.S. Highway 395.
Cooking at Casa Michaela is a family tradition that spans more than eight generations in California. "Grandma Michaela learned the fine art of cooking from both her Grandmother Sarah and Great-Grandmother Josefina," says Raymond Robles, the owner who carries the tradition. "At the tender age of five, my Grandma Michaela would stand on a chair and peek over her Grandma's apron to learn a little bit of this and a little bit of that. They didn't use measuring cups or cookbooks. They just used good ole' fashioned hands-on experience." Today it is Martha, a teenager, and her Grandpa, who are up on that chair learning all they can from Grandma Michaela.
From our family to yours, we're proud to share with you Michaela's specialty recipes that have been passed down over 155 years. Enjoy!! |
